Engineers across Trinidad and Tobago unite in record numbers to celebrate leadership, excellence, and the future of the profession. The Board of Engineering of Trinidad and Tobago (BOETT) extends congratulations to the Association of Professional Engineers of Trinidad and Tobago (APETT) on the successful hosting of its 67th Annual General Meeting (AGM), held on March 28, 2026, at the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), Agora Campus, Chaguanas.
This year’s AGM was a landmark event, with over 80 engineers and student engineers in attendance, reflecting strong engagement and renewed energy within the profession. The meeting was marked by exceptional participation, with standing-room-only attendance—arguably one of the most vibrant AGMs in APETT’s history. BOETT congratulates the newly elected Executive Council, led by President Ian Cox, and wishes them every success in their term of office. We also acknowledge the contributions of outgoing President Lendel Bethelmy and his team for their dedicated service.
The reports presented by the Divisions and the Tobago Chapter highlighted the continued expansion of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities through seminars and workshops—an encouraging sign of the profession’s commitment to lifelong learning and excellence. Special congratulations to the nominees for APETT’s prestigious awards, including Career of Excellence, Sterling Service, and Outstanding Young Engineer, whose achievements continue to inspire the engineering community.
In his inaugural remarks, President Cox emphasized the importance of strengthening APETT’s local and regional presence while advancing initiatives to support and protect the practice of engineering in Trinidad and Tobago.
His recognition of the Division Councils as the backbone of APETT underscores the collaborative spirit driving the institution forward. BOETT looks forward to continued collaboration with APETT in advancing professional standards, capacity building, and the development of engineering excellence in Trinidad and Tobago.
