It is with immense sadness, that the Board of Engineering of Trinidad & Tobago announces the
passing of its Chairman, Prof. Emeritus, Engineer Winston A. Mellowes on Wednesday 27th
December, 2023.
Professor Emeritus, Engineer Mellowes was the longest serving Member of the Board of Engineering
of Trinidad and Tobago (BOETT) having served consecutive terms during the period 1993 – 2004 and
was subsequently appointed Chairman of the BOETT for consecutive terms of office during the period
2012 – 2023.
Professor Mellowes has indeed served the Engineering Profession with dedication and distinction and
has contributed to the education and professional development of engineers in Trinidad and Tobago
and the wider Caribbean region in which he has shaped generation of Caribbean Engineers.
The Board of Engineering wishes to extend its deepest condolences to his wife Mrs. Barbara Mellowes,
son, daughter, daughter-in-law and grandson
