APETT TECHNICAL CONFERENCE 2014
23rd – 24th January, 2014, Cara Suites, Claxton Bay, Trinidad and Tobago
Theme: Engineering for Disaster Preparedness and Management

CALL FOR PAPERS

The main objective of this Technical Conference, hosted by the Association of Professional Engineers of Trinidad and Tobago, is to examine the role of Engineers and Engineering in natural catastrophes (e.g. earthquakes, hurricanes, floods) and man-made disasters (e.g oil spills, chemical disasters, power outages) in Trinidad and Tobago and in our Region. This will seek to ascertain our technological capacity to analyze the relevant data for prevention, management and mitigation of adverse effects of such disasters.

The Conference will ultimately produce a deeper understanding of the relevant engineering codes, approval processes, inter-governmental agency oversight, and will help identify gaps that currently exists so that we may enhance our capability as engineers to provide more effective solutions in the future prior to, during and after disasters of all types.
The Conference will comprise Keynote Speakers, Panel Discussions, Presentations from Experts, and would be an excellent networking opportunity for all stakeholders.
